"Fate" by Mash Kyrielight

Mash Kyrielight (Japanese: マッシュ・キリエライト, English: Mash Kyrielight) is one of the heroines in TYPE-MOON's mobile game Fate/Grand Order and its spin-offs. She is also the first Servant the player obtains, with the Shielder class, and is the only character in the game to have this class from the start. She was an artificial human cultivated by the Chaldea Human Protection Agency through artificial insemination. To become an excellent magician and master, she was prioritized for enhanced magical circuits and aptitudes. As a result, she originally had a lifespan of only 18 years and was always treated as an experimental subject living inside Chaldea, knowing almost nothing about the outside world. Mash has light purple short hair and purple eyes, wears glasses, and has a single-eye eyelid hairstyle (covering the left eye). In daily life, she wears a gray-and-white hoodie paired with a black inner layer, giving off an overall impression of quietness and gentleness. She is introverted but serious, always addressing the protagonist as "senior," showing humility and respect for juniors, while deep down she harbors sorrow caused by limited lifespan and a firm determination to uphold human decency. At the beginning of the game's story, Mash meets the protagonist in the Chaldea Corridor. While carrying out the pseudo-spirit transfer to the singularity, the control room suddenly explodes, leaving her gravely injured and barely alive. At this moment, she is possessed by a Servant pre-prepared by Chaldea, forming a form where a human and her spiritual foundation are fused, called a "Demi-Servant." This spirit is Galahad, one of the Knights of the Round Table, but Mash initially does not know the true identity of this spirit. He left only his spiritual foundation and a large cross-shaped shield as weapons. As a sub-Servant, Mash possesses the power of Heroic Spirits. Her Noble Phantasm is the "Lord Camelot," a powerful defensive Phantasm capable of deploying an absolute protective barrier over a wide area to resist various attacks, perfectly aligning with her role as a shield soldier class focused on defense. In the game, Mash's skill set mainly focuses on defense and support, including providing teammates with invincibility, damage reduction, NP recovery, and other effects. She is a reliable guardian in the team. Due to her unaffected attributes, excellent defense, and approachable design, she enjoys high and stable popularity among players, with many players maxing out her skills and dual stats. As the story progresses, Mash and the protagonist experience adventures at multiple singularities, gradually learning about the outside world and forming deep bonds with other Chaldea members. Her personality gradually changes from introverted to cheerful. In the later part of the story, through encounters and bonds with Chaldea members and many heroic spirits, her fate changes, granting her a longer lifespan and allowing her to continue protecting humanity alongside the protagonist and fighting enemies threatening humanity's future. Mash's voice actress is Rie Takahashi. With her gentle and delicate voice, she perfectly interprets the character's traits, making her even more memorable and one of the most iconic characters in Fate/Grand Order. She also appeared in the spin-off manga Learn with Manga! FGO," showing a different side of herself.
